HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: Police have reportedly released disturbing new details surrounding the final moments of Steven Mattaboni, the 38-year-old father-of-two who was killed in a devastating shark attack near Rottnest Island, Western Australia. Witnesses say the experienced diver was in the water near a reef when a massive great white shark suddenly appeared and attacked without warning.

According to reports from the scene, Steven suffered catastrophic injuries during the violent encounter, with witnesses claiming his entire face and upper body were severely mutilated in the attack. Friends onboard immediately screamed for help and desperately attempted to pull him back onto the boat as blood spread across the water. Several people reportedly tried performing CPR while rushing back toward shore, but Steven could not be saved.

Authorities later confirmed emergency crews responded within minutes, however the injuries were simply too severe. New images and witness accounts released after the tragedy have shocked the local community, with many describing the attack as one of the most horrifying incidents ever seen near the popular tourist island.

Steven’s wife, family members, and close friends have since shared emotional tributes online, remembering him as a devoted father, loving husband, and passionate ocean lover who spent much of his life around the water. A fundraiser created for his children has already received overwhelming support from the community as hundreds continue leaving messages of grief and condolences.
